Family Circle magazine has named Germantown, WI one of the 10 best towns for families in the United Sates in their August 2011 issue. Germantown is the only Wisconsin town to receive the honor.

The magazine assembled a list of 2,500 cities and towns with populations between 15,000 and 150,000 and assessed which places best met their family-friendly criteria. Those criteria included low crime rates, affordable homes, quality schools, financial stability, access to health care, green space and volunteerism.
